Common use of Restrictions on Outside Work Clause in Contracts

Restrictions on Outside Work. No employee shall engage in a gainful occupation outside the City position which is incompatible with City employment or which is of such a nature as to interfere with satisfactory discharge of regular duties. Any employee who wishes to engage in or accept such employment shall submit a written request for permission to do so, on a form designated by the City, to the City Manager or a representative. Approval shall not be withheld for reasons inconsistent with the provisions of this section.
