Common use of Resumption Clause in Contracts

Resumption. If after the Council receives notice of any proposed resumption or acquisition of the Land by any Government (meaning Federal State or Local) or any other authority, or if the control of the Land is otherwise taken away from the Council, the Council will be entitled to terminate this Lease. Neither party will be permitted to bring any claim for compensation against the other except for any previous breaches of this Lease.
