Retention and Accumulation of Seniority on Transfer Outside Bargaining Unit. An employee who is transferred to a position outside the bargaining unit for a period of less than eighteen (18) months or such longer period as the parties may agree upon, shall retain but not accumulate seniority held at the time of transfer. In the event the employee is returned to a position in the bargaining unit within the time periods noted above he shall be credited with the seniority held at the time of transfer and shall resume accumulation from the date of his return to the bargaining unit.
