Common use of Retention of Substitute Clause in Contracts

Retention of Substitute. Substitute teachers for 150 days or more will be retained if a building principal sends a letter dated May 1st or later of each school year. This letter must spell out that the individual substitute has displayed outstanding teaching attributes. Furthermore, the principal must indicate he or she would hire that individual for the following school year or recommend for any school in Xxxxxx should an appropriate opening occur.
