Common use of Retention of the Card Clause in Contracts

Retention of the Card. Your Card may be retained by any ATM, merchant, or participating financial institution IF: • The PIN is wrong after three attempts (certain ATMs may limit you to fewer attempts); • You exceed the limits on dollar amounts and/or frequency of Transactions; • Your Card was reported lost or stolen; • Your Account has been closed; • Your Card expired or was replaced; • The machine is not operating properly; or • There are other legitimate business reasons.
