RIGHT TO REPRESENTATION Upon request. an employee may 11 be represented at any or all levels of the Grievance Procedure. In the event 12 an employee is not represented, the District shall not agree to a resolution 13 of the grievance until the Association has received a copy of the grievance 14 and the proposed resolution and has been given an opportunity to file a 15 response. 16 The Association will exclusively receive time off from duties for the 17 processing of grievances under this Article for unit members who are 18 designated as Association representatives, subject to the following 19 conditions: (a) by no later than ten (10) days following the signing of this 20 Agreement the Association will designate in writing to the Superintendent 21 the names of one representative per school who are to receive the time off; 22 (b) twenty-four (24) hours prior to release from duties for grievance 24 supervisor in order that substitute service may be obtained, if such is 25 necessary; and (c) that time off shall be limited solely to one designee 26 representing a grievant in a conference with a management person and, 27 under no circumstances shall this time off include use of time for matters 28 such as gathering information, interviewing witnesses, or preparing a 29 presentation.
