Rules for PTO for Temporary and Per Diem. Temporary and per diem employees will accrue and may use PTO exclusively to cover protected absences as outlined in applicable federal, state and local laws. They accrue PTO under the schedule in this article. Accrual for employees in Oregon is not to exceed 40 hours per year. They may carry over no more than 40 hours per year. Employees may use PTO as soon as they are eligible and it is accrued.
