Salaries for New Employees and New Classifications. ‌ A. The Employer will assign newly hired employees to the appropriate range and step of the appropriate State General Service Salary Schedules as described in Section 37.1. Supervisors may make a recommendation regarding the appropriate step, based upon qualifications and recruitment issues, to the Appointing Authority. B. In the event the Employer creates new classifications during the term of this Agreement, the Association may exercise its right to bargain assignment of new bargaining unit classes or the reassignment of existing bargaining unit classes to pay ranges if a change in pay is proposed.
