Second Formal Step Sample Clauses

Second Formal Step. Any formal grievance which has not been resolved by the Deputy Director of Public Works or his or her designee, may be referred to the Director of Public Works or his or her designee within thirty (30) days from the date of the Deputy Director's formal written response, or if more than five (5) days have elapsed since the grievance was presented at the Deputy Director's level.
Second Formal Step. If the grievance is not settled in the first formal step the teacher may present the grievance to the Superintendent no later than seven (7) days after the written decision of the immediate Supervisor and Director has been received by the grievant. Within seven (7) days after receipt of the written grievance, the Superintendent shall meet with the grievant to attempt to resolve the grievance. The Superintendent shall give a written answer to the grievant within five (5) days after this meeting.

Second Formal Step. The staff representative may present the grievance at Step 3 or meet with the Manager of Human Resources and/or the Department Manager or Director to discuss the grievance and the proposed remedy at Step 3: • Within 21 days after the Step 2 reply has been received by the staff representative; or • Within 21 days after the Employer’s Step 2 reply was due. The Employer designate will respond in writing to the staff representative within 21 days of receipt of the grievance at Step 3.
