Selection From Among Volunteers for MDO. If two or more nurses volunteer for an MDO at the same time, the MDO shall be rotated based on who last received an MDO. If the nurses received an MDO on the same prior day, the MDO will be given to the more senior nurse. Notwithstanding this provision, nurses on a unit will be permitted to develop a unit-specific process for selecting among volunteers for MDO that may differ from this provision and shall be considered to replace this provision for the nurses on that unit. Any such unit- specific plan will be in writing and must be approved by the unit manager.
