Preceptor. A per diem Registered Nurse 2 may serve as a preceptor after successfully completing a preceptor workshop or equivalent documented training and agreeing to and being appointed to be specifically responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating the new skill development of one or more RNs as appropriate enrolled in a defined orientation program, the parameters of which have been set forth in writing by the Employer. This includes teaching, clinical supervision, role modeling, feedback, evaluation (verbal and written) and follow up of the new or transferring employee. The per diem RN 2 preceptor is eligible to receive preceptor premium pay when actually engaged in preceptor role responsibilities with/on behalf of the orienting RN. A per diem RN 2 substituting for the original preceptor during a period of absence and who has been designated to carry out the preceptor's complete responsibility (including following and/or adjusting the plan to meet learning needs and providing oral and written evaluation input) will receive preceptor pay. A preceptor may be assigned to a student when it is determined by the Employer that the employee has completed the required preceptor training or has agreed to and been appointed a preceptor. The employee is specifically responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating the new skill development of the student as appropriately enrolled in a defined program, the parameters of which have been set forth in writing by the Employer. This includes teaching, clinical supervision, role modeling, feedback, evaluation (verbal and written) and follow up of the student.
Preceptor a professional person not in receipt of compensation from Langara College and designated temporarily for a specified period of time to serve as an advisor or role model, usually off campus, for students in one or more programs or courses offered by Langara College. A preceptor is not covered by any provisions of this Agreement except Articles 5.16 and 10.3.8.

A preceptor is an experienced nurse proficient in clinical teaching who is specifically responsible for planning, organizing, teaching and evaluating the new skill development of the following students or nurses enrolled in a defined preceptor program, the parameters of which have been set forth in writing by the Employer:
Preceptor. This terminology should no longer be used. The Employer shall establish a new position classification, Collection Specialist III (CSIII) with an additional $2.50 per hour (in total) added to an employee’s wage rate: The CSIII position qualifications shall include demonstrated leadership skills as well as previous qualification and experience in: • Power Reds (CTIII) • Charge (CSII) • OJI position The Employer shall determine the number of CSIII’s required and the selection of CSIII’s shall be by skill and ability (i.e., employer discretion) with seniority as a tie breaker. As with all premium positions, an employee requesting to step down from the role or classification will lose the premium or wage increase associated with the role when the Employer releases the employee from the role/classification. The Employer maintains the right to delay the release while it is replacing the employee seeking to step down. • Employees selected for CSIII classification who do not have a charge and/or power red premium included (“baked in”) to their existing hourly rate will have their base wage increased by $2.50 per hour. • Employees selected for CSIII classification who have a charge and/or power red premium included (“baked in”) to their existing hourly rate shall receive an increase above their “baked in” wage rate, not to exceed $2.50 per hour. • Employees selected for CSIII classification shall not be entitled to receive any further premiums for Power Reds, Charge or OJI. (There is no premium associated with Project Impact, and the parties agree to finalize the Effects Bargaining Agreement following ratification.) The Parties agree that all outstanding Local contract negotiations and any wage compression/hire rate negotiations shall be completed no later than May 28, 2022.
Preceptor. At the time a new employee is hired, transferred, or promoted into a represented position in a department, the manager will assign an experienced employee to orient that new employee. Based on the new employee’s prior experience, a decision will be made by the manager as to whether an assignment of preceptor(s) or a general orientation will be applicable. A preceptor may be assigned to a student, new employees, and current employees when it is determined to be appropriate by the Employer. An employee who does not wish to participate as a preceptor will not be penalized for that decision, provided there are qualified employees willing and available to precept to meet the Employer’s requirements. It is understood that employees in the ordinary course of their responsibility will be expected to participate in the general assistance, support, guidance and orientation for new employees.
Preceptor. A An SSA employee who may be called upon to provide supplementary instructional services. This individual also has a Master’s Degree from an accredited school, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or has experience as a Senior Social Worker (SSW) in another discipline,), and is part of the SSA service delivery team. The Preceptor shall provide a broad learning experience for the student during the field assignment. The Preceptor shall report to the Field Supervisor.

Inherent in the preceptor role is the responsibility for specific, criteria-based and goal directed education and training for a specific training period. Nursing management will determine the need for preceptor assignments. Each newly hired nurse, nurse transferring to a new unit, and a senior practicum nurse shall be assigned a preceptor. It is understood that staff nurses in the ordinary course of their responsibilities will be expected to participate in the general orientation process of new nurses. This would include the providing of informational assistance, support and guidance to new nurses.
Preceptor. Any bargaining unit RN who is assigned to orient or precept a student nurse will be compensated at an additional one dollar twenty-five cents ($1.25) for each hour of performing such activity, up to a maximum of one hundred fifty (150) hours per student nurse.

A preceptor is an experienced employee proficient in clinical teaching who has successfully completed a program of preceptor training, has had an evaluation of their training ability by their immediate supervisor or designee, and who has been assigned by the Hospital to be specifically responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating the new skill development of an employee or student enrolled in a defined program, the parameters of which have been set forth in writing by the Employer. Preceptor assignments are voluntary. Each year, the Employer shall offer a class on preceptor training that will be open to bargaining unit members. Inherent in the preceptor role is the responsibility for specific, criteria-based and goal directed education and training for a specified training period. Management will determine the need for preceptor assignments. It is understood that employees in the ordinary course of their responsibilities will be expected to participate in the general orientation process of new employees. This would include the providing of informational assistance, support and guidance to new employees. Any employee who currently is precepting, but has not completed the training program, shall continue as a preceptor when assigned by the Hospital. Employees acting as preceptors shall have one year in which to complete the training, after which they may not precept.
