Seniority Accrual While on Leave Due to Illness or Injury. An employee will 19 continue to accrue seniority during an absence caused by an industrial injury or illness. An employee 20 who is unable to work because of a non-work related injury or illness will not accumulate seniority 21 during an unpaid leave of absence in excess of thirty (30) calendar days. However, if the employee is 22 on approved FMLA and/or KCFML qualified leave, seniority shall continue to accrue for up to 23 eighteen (18) workweeks of the qualified unpaid leave period.
