Seniority Bidding. B.1 Vacant bus routes shall be bid in December to be effective after Christmas break for any open routes and other vacancies that may occur due to this bidding. The sub driver hired to replace the driver vacating the position shall be employed as a contracted employee within forty-five (45) days.
B.2 Vacant bus routes shall be bid in the summer to be effective for the following school year for any open routes and other vacancies that may occur due to this bidding. In the summer months, vacancy notices shall be sent to all employees along with their paychecks. Seniority Bidding. If the City implements multiple shifts or multiple schedules, employees will be allowed to bid on the available shifts or schedules by seniority. The bidding will occur as follows: When a new shift or schedule is established for a job or jobs, employees in those jobs will be given the opportunity to bid on available shifts or schedules by seniority, with the person with the greatest total City seniority having first selection, and so on, until all available shifts or schedules are filled. If multiple shifts or schedules are established and bid on under this Article, shift and schedule assignments will be posted for re-bidding in November and May of each year for assignments to begin on January 1 and July 1, respectively. The City reserves the right to change an employee’s shift assignment for operational needs or to insure the safety of an employee or the public. In addition, the City has the right to make a temporary change in an employee’s shift assignment for emergency reasons.
Seniority Bidding. 1. With respect to work assignments in the Patrol Division, regular work shifts and days off will be based on the above-mentioned seniority.
2. Shift selection procedures involving unit employee bidding based on seniority shall be implemented regularly in six (6) months increments.
3. Officers may not bid for the same shift with the same days off for more that two (2) consecutive cycles.
Seniority Bidding. 1. Seniority List: A seniority list determined by date of hire shall be established by agreement of the parties hereto for the purpose of administering this Agreement. This list shall be maintained by the office of the Chief of Police or his designee and shall be updated immediately upon the departure of a more senior Telecommunications Specialist or the hiring of new personnel. For Telecommunications Specialists hired at the time of conversion from Police to Civilian Dispatch, the rank order established at time of hiring shall be utilized to determine seniority. Telecommunications Specialists hired on the same date shall determine seniority by random draw of the lot.
Seniority Bidding. A. With respect to work assignments of covered employees in the Police Department, work shifts, days off and vacation will be based upon seniority within classifications. Shift selection procedures involving employee bidding based upon seniority shall be implemented regularly, provided the Chief of Police shall retain the authority and discretion to assign individual Communications Operators to shift scheduling without regard to seniority to insure that a balance of experienced personnel are assigned to the respective shifts or to otherwise meet the needs of the department.
B. If, in the opinion of the Chief of Police, it should become necessary to establish shift assignment procedures departing from seniority bidding, the Chief of Police shall give written notice of such change as far in advance as practical. Prior to implementing such a general change, the Chief of Police shall meet and confer with the Association regarding the impact of the decision.
Seniority Bidding. Whenever an opening occurs in a bargaining unit job title, any qual- ified bargaining unit employee may bid into the position prior to the position being filled from outside the unit. The job posting shall be open for a minimum of seven (7) days. The successful bidder shall be chosen based on seniority provided the employee has the minimal immediate qualifications to perform the job.
Seniority Bidding. All full-time employees shall be regularly scheduled so as to avoid split shifts. Subject to the Sheriff’s right to assign personnel to divisions (e.g., law enforcement, corrections, etc.), units (e.g., transport, Act 416 patrol, etc.) and positions (e.g., classification, medical, immigration pod, school liaison, etc.), non-probationary full-time employees may bid for duty/shift preference/pass day slots (with pass days for each slot established by the Employer) based upon his/her classification seniority. Such bidding is limited to those duty/shift/pass day slots available at the time of bidding. The bid of an employee on a leave of absence at the time of bidding may be disregarded if the leave is expected to last beyond the effective date of the bid. An employee whose bid will be disregarded will be notified not later than the start of the bid process, with a copy of the notice provided to the Union.

Shift selection procedures involving employee bidding based upon seniority shall be employed regularly, provided that the Chief of Police shall retain the authority and discretion to assign unit employees to shift scheduling without regard to seniority and to ensure that a balance of experienced personnel are assigned to the respective shifts.
