Common use of Shift Change Premium Clause in Contracts

Shift Change Premium. If an employee's regularly scheduled work hours are changed with less than five (5) calendar days’ advance notice, those hours upon the first day of the modified schedule that fall outside of the originally scheduled hours shall be paid at the overtime rate. The provisions of this Section shall not apply if the change in work hours is at the request of the employee or is the result of an emergency or unforeseeable circumstance, such as inclement weather.
