Shift Schedules. 1501 Shift schedules for a minimum of a four (4) week period shall be posted at least two (2) weeks in advance of the beginning of the scheduled period. Shifts within the minimum four (4) week period shall not be altered after posting except by mutual agreement between the nurse(s) concerned and the Employer. Requests for specific days off duty shall be submitted in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to posting and granted, if possible in the judgment of the Employer. 1502 Requests for interchanges in posted shifts or a portion thereof shall also be submitted in writing, co-signed by the nurse willing to exchange shifts with the applicant. Where reasonably possible, interchanges in posted shifts are to be completed within the posted shift schedule. It is understood that any change in shifts or days off initiated by the nurses and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime costs to the Employer. 1503 Night shift shall be considered as the first shift of each calendar day. 1504 Master rotations for each nursing unit shall be planned by the Employer in meaningful consultation with the nurse(s) concerned. The process for meaningful consultation shall include: Employer proposes a master rotation including the Employer established criteria and provides to Nurses concerned Nurses are provided reasonable time to submit feedback and/or an alternate master rotation for consideration. The amended or new master rotation is provided to Nurses for review. Nurses are provided with a reasonable time to submit feedback. At each step of the consultation process the Union will be provided with the new or revised master rotation to ensure contract compliance. Employer has the sole discretion to select the new master rotation and provides rationale for the selection. Master Rotations shall, unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, observe the conditions listed hereinafter:
(a) a minimum of fifteen hours (15) off between assigned shifts.
(b) (i) a minimum of forty-seven (47) hours off at one time, or
Shift Schedules. (a) Employees, in the course of their regular duties, may be required to work on various Shifts throughout the 24 hour period of the day and the seven (7) days of the week. The Shift where the majority of hours worked fall between 2400 and 0800 hours is the first Shift of the working day.

11:01 For identification purposes, shifts will be named as defined in Article 2 - Definitions.
11:02 Shift schedules for a minimum of a four (4) week period shall be posted at least two (2) weeks in advance of the beginning of the scheduled period.
11:03 Employees desiring to exchange shifts shall jointly apply to do so, in writing, as far in advance as possible.
11:04 Any exchange in shifts requested by employees and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime costs to the Employer.
11:05 Shift schedules shall be planned by the Employer in consultation with the Union and shall unless otherwise mutually agreed between the Union and the Employer, observe the conditions listed herein:
(i) Not less than fifteen (15) hours off between shifts;
(ii) Not less than eight (8) days off in any two consecutive pay periods;
(iii) A minimum of two (2) consecutive days off where reasonably possible;
(iv) Not more than seven (7) consecutive working days, and when reasonably possible, six (6) or less;
(v) Alternate weekends off shall be granted as often as reasonably possible, with a minimum of every third weekend off.
11:06 Employees who are required to rotate shifts shall be assigned to work either day shift and evening shift or day shift and night shift.
1. The Employer will meet with the affected employee(s) and a representative of the Union to discuss the proposed alteration to the shift pattern. An attempt will be made to obtain the agreement of the majority of the affected employees.
2. Failing agreement of the majority of affected employees, the Union and the employee(s) so affected shall, within ten (10) working days, have the opportunity to consider and submit alternate proposals to the Employer for consideration.
3. If after consideration of the alternate proposals, the Employer still plans to implement the alteration to the shift pattern, the affected employee(s) will be given at least sixty (60) days’ notice.
11:07 Notwithstanding 11:02, where seven (7) calendar days’ notice is not given to change the shift schedule, an employee shall be paid at overtime rates for the first shift worked which varies from the posted schedule.

(a) No later than one year after February 18, 2013, the new scheduling language will be applicable.
(b) Shift schedules include the following:
Shift Schedules. All shift schedules will be posted and maintained in a prominent place readily available to the employees concerned. Shift schedules will adhere to all regulations in this Agreement unless prior agreement by the Union has been obtained in writing. Newly developed shift schedules will be posted seven (7) working days prior to implementation.
Shift Schedules. For all statutory holidays falling by calendar on a scheduled work day, the statutory holiday will be observed on that day unless otherwise agreed to by the Company and the Plant committee. Employees will be paid ten (10) hours statutory holiday pay at their regular job rate. For all statutory holidays falling by calendar on a rest day, employees will be required to work their full regular schedule and will receive their regular pay. In addition, employees will be paid ten (10) hours statutory holiday pay at their regular job rate.

(b) If it is necessary to amend the posted schedule, NAV CANADA will make every reasonable effort to contact the employee affected by the amendment to advise him or her of the change at the earliest possible opportunity. If the employee has serious objections to the amendment, NAV CANADA shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate the employee provided that it will not result in any additional overtime payments than would have otherwise been the case if the employee had not been so accommodated.
(c) An employee who is required to change his or her scheduled shift without receiving at least seven (7) days’ notice shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2) for all hours worked on the first shift on the revised schedule which are outside of the employee's original scheduled hours of work. Subsequent shifts worked on the revised schedule shall be paid for at the straight-time rate. In addition to the above where an employee’s scheduled shift is changed with less than seven (7) days notice and the reason for the change is due to circumstances within the control of the Company, time and one half (1-1/2) will be paid for all changed hours worked on the revised schedule which are outside of the employees’ original scheduled hours of work
(d) Once the current shift schedule is posted, the Employer will not unilaterally alter an employee’s scheduled shift to accommodate a vacation leave or lieu leave request subsequently made by another employee.
(e) Short change occurs when the period between the end of one shift and the beginning of the next is less than ten (10) hours. NAV CANADA shall:
(i) not schedule a short change, subject to the following: With a minimum of 56 days notice prior to the posting of a new schedule the local Union in a unit (in towers) or a specialty (in ACCs) may select a short change in accordance with one of the options listed in (1) or (i2) or neither. All operational staff in the unit/specialty will be on the same option.

Shift Schedules. The basic shift pattern will be comprised of work shifts constituting between eight (8), ten (10) and twelve (12) hours. In general terms, the average work week will be forty (40) hours with two (2) calendar days off. The Company may change the shift pattern in accordance with its operational needs resulting from, but not limited to, market changes, production needs and quality problems.
