Common use of Short Term Disability Benefits for Full Time Continuing Employees Clause in Contracts

Short Term Disability Benefits for Full Time Continuing Employees. a) Upon completion of three (3) months of continuous employment with the Employer, Employees are eligible to participate in the Short Term Disability program after they have been absent from work due to illness or non-work related injury for a period of not less than five (5) consecutive Days. b) An Employee who is unable to perform their responsibilities due to illness or accident is eligible to receive one hundred percent (100%) salary for up to six (6) months, followed by seventy-five percent (75%) of salary for up to an additional six (6) months subject to meeting the eligibility and/or qualifying criteria under the applicable terms of the Short Term Disability Plan. c) At the expiry of this twelve (12) month period, the Employee is eligible to apply for Long Term Disability under the Employer’s plan.
