Shortening or Expanding Timeframes. Timeframes may be shortened or extended as clinically appropriate by a qualified health care professional acting within the scope of his or her practice consistent with professionally recognized standards of practice. If the timeframe is extended, it must be documented within the Enrollee’s medical record that a longer timeframe will not have a detrimental impact on the Enrollee’s health.
