Simple NID. The modular NID is divided into two (2) components, one containing the over-voltage unit (protector) and the other containing the end user’s on-premises inside wiring termination, and a modular plug which connects the inside wire to the distribution plant or dial tone source. The non-modular NID is a protector block with the inside wire terminated directly on the distribution facilities.
