Common use of Software Design Documentation Clause in Contracts

Software Design Documentation. The Contractor shall document functional software requirements in the Software Design Specification, validating the traceability of the requirements from the System Performance Specification. The Software Design Specification detail shall be sufficient to ensure a common understanding of the requirements; ensure that requirements are complete, consistent, and testable; and define the inputs and outputs for every function. The software shall be designed, selected or developed to facilitate life-cycle maintenance.
