- Spouse/Domestic Partner Optional Death Benefit Allowance. Spouses or Domestic Partners of those PLAN members who are eligible to retire with a formula pension but who die while still actively employed, shall be entitled to receive an Optional Death Benefit Allowance commensurate with the Option D Retirement Benefit.
