Staff Improvement. Released time without loss of salary may be granted for staff attendance at state, regional or national meetings, as well as for staff visitations and participation in professional committee work.
Staff Improvement. Management or a professional staff member may, at any time, arrange for an evaluation by a mutually acceptable peer (s) or by other mutually acceptable method of systematic rating for the sole purpose of self-improvement. Such evaluation shall have no other standing and the report shall not be placed in any official personnel record of the professional staff member.
Staff Improvement. 1. Any member of the teaching staff who has not taken a college graduate level course within the previous four years of any school year covered by this Agreement, shall be eligible for an encouragement grant of $150.00 (per three credit course) on the successful completion of 6 credits of a college level course (undergraduate or graduate), private tutorial course or district level course. The course work for the encouragement grant shall be completed within a two (2) year period. Upon completion of the 6 credits within a two (2) year period, a teaching staff member may apply for one (1) additional encouragement grant. 2. Teachers may be reimbursed for the costs of workshops/seminars outside of the regular school hours. Said approval of these workshops/seminars will not be considered for advancement on the salary guide. These requests are to be related to the staff member's job function and will be granted only with prior written approval of the Superintendent of Schools whose decision is final.
