Strategy Statement/Strategic Plan. In accordance with section 1.17 of the Code of Practice, the IPS produces a multi-year Strategic Plan. The current Plan covers the period 2019-2022. The Director General will ensure that a successor Plan is developed in a timely manner and will submit it to the Minister for consideration before it is finalised. In accordance with section 1.15 of the Code of Practice, the Plan will include appropriate objectives and goals along with relevant indicators and targets against which performance can be clearly measured. The IPS also has other strategy documents (including joint strategies with the Probation Service, Education Training Boards and other bodies) and protocols in place that align with the Department’s strategic objectives and with good governance.
