Common use of Submission to Department Head Clause in Contracts

Submission to Department Head. Should the grievance remain unresolved under 5.B.3, the employee and/or Union Representative may, within five (5) working days of receipt of the immediate supervisor's response, submit the written grievance to the department head to whom the supervisor immediately reports. The department head shall respond in writing to the grievance within five (5) working days after receipt of the grievance. The response shall be given to the employee and a copy shall be mailed to the Union Representative.
