SUBSTITUTE SERVICE FOR TEACHERS. A. The District will maintain a list of substitute teachers to be utilized by the administration, when teachers are absent from their assignments. B. 1. In those cases where substitutes are not available in the secondary schools, and a teacher voluntarily agrees to serve one class period as a substitute during a non-teaching period of the regular daily assignment, the teacher will be paid the B.A. minimum hourly rate (Category I, Step 1, rate divided by 186, divided by 7), when their special is cancelled and they teach their students regardless of content of instruction. Fractional periods less than fifty percent (50%) will be prorated. Such arrangements will be made by the principal of the school.
