SUBSTITUTING FOR STEWARDS. When the presence of a xxxxxxx is requested, under this Agreement, every effort will be made to locate the designated xxxxxxx or the alternate xxxxxxx, respectively, for the unit involved. If neither the xxxxxxx nor alternate xxxxxxx is available the Union shall be notified and the Chief Xxxxxxx, Union Officer, or a Union worksite organizer, or any other xxxxxxx shall be designated by the Union (or by the University if the Union cannot be reached) to act as xxxxxxx unless, if an individual worker is involved, the worker elects not to have a xxxxxxx present. In cases not requiring immediate attention the proposed action shall be delayed until the next workday. Alternate stewards who serve as substitute stewards under this Agreement shall be entitled to approve release time which shall be charged as release time for the designated xxxxxxx.
