Supplemental Employment Benefit Plan Maternity Leave Supplemental Employment Benefit. An employee who is the birth parent of a newborn child is eligible for the University’s Maternity Leave Supplemental Employment Benefit (MSEB) if the employee is on maternity leave, and has applied for and is eligible to receive Employment Insurance (EI) benefits and plans to return to work for at least six (6) months following the leave.
