Surveys, Permits, and Regulations. The contractor shall make all surveys including all required construction staking. Any property corners disturbed by the construction activities shall be replaced at the contractor’s cost. Permits and licenses of a temporary nature necessary for the prosecution of the work shall be secured and paid for by the contractor. The contractor shall give all notices and comply with all laws, ordinances, rules and regulations bearing on the conduct of the work as drawn and specified. The contractor is required to observe all laws and ordinances relating to the obstructing of streets, maintaining signals, keeping open passageways and protecting them where exposed to danger, and all general ordinances affecting them or their employees or their work hereunder in their relations to the owner or any person, and also to obey all laws and ordinances controlling or limiting the contractor while engaged in the prosecution of the work under this contract. If the contractor observes that the drawings and specifications are at variance with laws and regulations, they shall promptly notify the Engineer in writing, and any necessary changes shall be adjusted as provided in the contract for changes in the work. If the contractor performs any work knowing it to be contrary to such laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, or specifications, of local, state or federal authorities without such notice to the Engineer, they shall bear all costs arising therefrom.
