Common use of Suspension of Operations Due to Weather or Emergencies Clause in Contracts

Suspension of Operations Due to Weather or Emergencies. An Employee who is requested to work after the University has suspended operations due to weather or emergencies will be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the Employee’s regular rate of pay, in addition to the Employee’s normal pay for that time worked. This will bring the total compensation for the time worked to two and one-half (2½) times the Employee’s regular rate of pay.

An Employee who is requested to work after the University has suspended operations due to weather or emergencies will be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the Employee’s regular normal rate of pay, in addition to the Employee’s normal pay for that time worked. This Employees who arrived for work prior to the suspension of operations, due to weather or emergencies, and are not requested to work, will bring be paid at the total compensation basic hourly rate of pay for the time worked to two and one-half (2½) times remainder of the Employee’s regular rate of payscheduled shift.
