Common use of Swing Shifts Clause in Contracts

Swing Shifts. 14.3.1 From the commencement of this Agreement, Employees will not be permitted to elect to swing from Evening to Day Shift the following day (Swing Shift). 14.3.2 The Company may continue to allocate Employees to work a Swing Shift as a last resort where operational requirements dictate. 14.3.3 This clause will operate for a period of six months. This period may be extended to a maximum of 12 months after consultation. 14.3.4 The Company may in exceptional circumstances swing an Employee from Evening Shift to Day Shift with a minimum of 10 hour break between shifts. At the Company’s election it may conclude Evening Shift two (2) hours early or delay the start of Day Shift by two (2) hours. The Employee will only be required to work 6 hours but will be paid for 8 hours. 14.3.5 These arrangements exclude attendance at ERC and safety meetings.
