Termination of Continuing Service Status. An Employee shall lose continuing service status and no longer be an Employee if: 1. The Employee resigns or quits; 2. The Employee retires; 3. The Employee is discharged or terminated; 4. The Employee does not return from layoff in accordance with the recall provisions of this Agreement; 5. The Employee's recall rights expire; 6. The Employee fails to return on, or before, the termination date of a leave of absence unless the leave is officially extended. 7. The Employee is dismissed for adequate cause including, but not limited to, the following reasons: a) An act involving moral turpitude that bears upon the ability to appropriately perform the job. b) A serious misrepresentation of facts at the time of employment or promotion. c) Violation of professional standards and principles. d) Failure to competently perform professional assignments.
