Common use of Terms of Membership Clause in Contracts

Terms of Membership. I recognize that paddling is a physically demanding activity and I agree that I participate in practices and races at my own risk. • I attest that I can swim 200 yards unassisted and tread water for ten minutes, or that I will wear an approved flotation device whenever paddling in a Club canoe. I understand that I may be required to demonstrate this ability. • I will not hold Hanalei Hawaiian Civic Club, Hanalei Canoe Club, and/or the property owners responsible for injury or damage while on the canoe club property or arising from the use of any equipment owned or used by the canoe club. • I agree to abide by the Constitution and By-Laws of the Hanalei Hawaiian Civic Club and the Guidelines of the Hanalei Canoe Club. (Copies of these documents are available upon request.) By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read this Membership Agreement and agree to abide by it, and I acknowledge that violation of any part of this Agreement may result in my expulsion from the club and loss of membership privileges and any dues paid.
