Terms of Reinstatement to Active Duty. In accord with the provisions contained herein, reinstatement of a teacher on leave shall be made at the earliest date practicable but only when a suitable opening is available. A teacher returning from extended leave shall have an opportunity to discuss and express the teacher’s preference for reassignment with the Superintendent or his/her designated representative if the teacher so requests. Rejection of the assignment when offered shall void the leave protection and shall automatically be treated as a voluntary resignation.
