Tests Required. All persons must be tested for controlled substances prior to initial employment by the bus company and on other occasions as required by Department of Transportation (“DOT”) guidelines. Whenever a bus company has reasonable cause to believe that the actions, appearance or conduct of a driver, while on duty, are indicative of the use of a controlled substance or alcohol, the driver will be required to undergo a drug and/or alcohol test. The MPS Pupil Transportation Services can request a bus company to investigate a driver if there is a reasonable cause, in accordance with DOT Reasonable Cause Drug Policy Procedures Contractors will provide documentation that the test was conducted.
