STRIKES AND SANCTIONS 19.1 The Association and the Board subscribe to the principle that differences shall be resolved by peaceful and appropriate means without interruption of the school program. Chemical Dependency Alcoholism and drug addiction shall be recognized as an illness. However, sick leave pay for treatment of such illness shall be contingent upon two conditions: 1) the employee must undergo an evaluation by a licensed alcohol and drug counselor or substance abuse professional, and 2) the employee, during or following the above care, must participate in a prescribed program of treatment and rehabilitation approved by the Employer in consultation with the Employer's health care provider.
