Common use of TIME ALLOCATED FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Clause in Contracts

TIME ALLOCATED FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. 11.3.1 All regular full-time instructional faculty shall have twenty-two (22) working days per year of combined professional development and curriculum development time, scheduled in a single block of time or in time periods mutually agreeable to the Employer and the employee. Regular non-teaching faculty shall have a maximum of twelve (12) working days per year for professional development, scheduled at times mutually agreeable to the Employer and the employee. Regular part-time employees shall have the same allocation, pro-rated to the proportion of their contract. The calculation of combined professional and curriculum development time shall include any sessional contract increases to their regular assignment after September 1, 1994. A request to use up to twenty-two (22)days in a given year for authorized Professional Development will not be unreasonably denied. Unused Curriculum Development days will be taken as Professional Development to a maximum of twenty-two (22) days.
