Common use of Time Status Reduction Clause in Contracts

Time Status Reduction. 1. Time status reduction is the reduction of percent time. Percent time may be denominated in hours per week or weeks per year or both. Time status reduction may occur at the initiative of the College or the employee. 2. If a bargaining unit member wishes to reduce their time status, they must submit the request in writing to their supervisor specifying the requested new work schedule and the reasons. The supervisor, in consultation with the Office of Human Resources, will consider the request in light of its impact on the business requirements of the department. If the business requirements of the department will not be impaired by the change, the request will not be denied arbitrarily, capriciously, or in violation of the Article V.
