Transfer/Suspension of Students Upon Assault. A child who initiates and inflicts a physical assault upon a teacher shall be transferred to another school and/or expelled from the school district in accordance with due process rights, applicable state law and the District’s “Rights and Responsibilities of Students in the District” (“Student Code of Conduct”). Age and size of the offender shall be taken into consideration. When the parent/guardian of a student assaults a teacher, the student may be subject to transfer to another school. If requested by the teacher, the District shall expedite the transfer of the teacher to another school where a vacancy exists for which the teacher is certified and qualified. Article Twenty-Three Substitutes
