Common use of TRAVEL ALLOWANCE AND BUSINESS INSURANCE Clause in Contracts

TRAVEL ALLOWANCE AND BUSINESS INSURANCE. 25.1 The Employer agrees to endeavor to provide Employee’s with vehicles to use for business purposes; should such vehicles be unavailable and an employee must use his/her own vehicle the following travel allowance shall be paid only under the following conditions: (a) the Employee is authorized and directed to use his/her vehicle for the purposes of travelling from job site to job site and, (b) the Employee has presented proof that his/her automobile insurance has been endorsed for business purposes. 25.2 The mileage rate paid per kilometre driven on the Employer’s business will be fifty (50) cents for the first five thousand (5,000) kilometres per annum and forty-six (46) cents for all kilometres in excess of five thousand (5,000). In addition, each Employee who meets the above conditions shall be entitled to reimbursement of up to one-hundred (100) dollars per year upon submission of receipt from his/her insurer.
