Trimming and Repairs. It is expected that forms, concrete and workmanship shall be such that the quantity of trimming and repair work is kept to a minimum. Defective concrete shall be cut normal to the surface until sound concrete is reached, but not less than one inch deep; the remaining concrete shall be thoroughly roughened and cleaned. Concrete around the cavity or the form-tie recess shall be thoroughly wetted and promptly painted with a 1/16-inch brush coat of neat cement mixed to the consistency of thick lead paint. The hole shall then be filled with mortar mixed in the proportions of one part cement and 1 ½ parts sand, both being form the same sources as in the apparent concrete.
