Unannounced On-Site Monitoring Visits. TJJD may conduct unannounced on-site visits in addition to its scheduled onsite visits. Unannounced on-site visits may be made without any advance notification and may occur at any time. Unannounced on-site visits may be conducted at random or for cause. TJJD may determine cause exists by assessing alleged standards non-compliance, as a means to monitor program improvement plans (PIPs), or due to a request for intervention from other state or local government entities or the public. Unannounced on-site visits may also be conducted in conjunction with TJJD’s formal abuse, neglect, and exploitation investigations. The length and scope of an unannounced on-site visit shall be dependent on the circumstances that led to the visit. An NCCR may be issued for any verified non-compliance in an unannounced on-site visit.
