Use of Handguns. a. A Palestinian policeman shall be authorized to use his handgun in the following cases: (1) where there is a substantial and immediate danger to his life, in which case the handgun may only be used in a reasonable manner in the circumstances; (2) pursuant to the instructions of the Director-General, the substitute officer or the Security officer; or (3) pursuant to a security procedure to be agreed with respect to this matter. b. The Director-General shall promulgate procedures with respect to the use of handguns, in accordance with Section C of this Protocol.
