Use of Laboratory Animals. Cell Lines The dsRed and luciferase-transfected acute myeloid leukemia cell line C1498 was a generous gift from Xx. Xxxxx Xxxxxx. 182 The T lymphoblastic leukemia cell line LBRM was obtained from American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) and transfected with luciferase as previously described. 183 C1498 and LBRM cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 100 U/mL penicillin, 100 µg/mL streptomycin, and 50 µM 2-mercaptoethanol. All cell cultures were kept in a 37 degree Celsius 5% CO2 humidified incubator. Cell viability was assessed before injection via trypan blue exclusion and was always greater than 95%. Cells were injected in PBS intravenously via the lateral tail vein.

Use of Laboratory Animals. (1) Before un- dertaking performance of any contract in- volving the use of laboratory animals, the contractor shall register with the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States in ac- cordance with the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act of 1966, as amended (AWA), codified at 7 U.S.C. 2131 et seq. and promulgated at 9 CFR parts 1–4. The con- tractor shall furnish evidence of such reg- istration to the contracting officer.
Use of Laboratory Animals. When the use of live vertebrate animals is involved in the performance of Work, Subrecipient agrees to comply with all current Federal regulations concerning the care and use of animals, as required by the Animal Welfare Act, as amended. Subrecipient agrees to provide certification to Gallaudet upon execution of this Agreement that an appropriate institutional animal care and use committee has reviewed and approved all procedures involving live vertebrate animals. Gallaudet will not serve as the institutional review board for the Subrecipient. Instances of noncompliance with this provision shall be reported immediately to the Gallaudet Administrative contact.
