Contractors shall take all of the following steps to further this goal. Ensure that small businesses, minority-owned firms, and women's business enterprises are used to the fullest extent practicable. Make information on forthcoming purchasing and contracting opportunities available and arrange time frames for purchases and contracts to encourage and facilitate participation by small businesses, minority-owned firms, and women's business enterprises. Consider in the contract process whether firms competing for larger contracts intend to subcontract with small businesses, minority-ownedfirms, and women's business enterprises. Encourage contracting with consortiums of small businesses, minority-owned firms and women's business enterprises when a contract is too large for one of these firms to handle individually. Use the services and assistance, as appropriate, of such organizations as the Federal Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency in the solicitation and utilization of small businesses, minority-owned firms and women's business enterprises.   • Utilization of Minority Business Enterprises The Contractor shall perform under this Contract in accordance with 45 C.F.R. Part 74; and, as applicable, C.G.S. §§ 4a-60 to 4a-60a and 4a-60g to carry out this policy in the award of any subcontracts.

  • Certified and Minority Business Enterprises Reports Upon Customer request, the Contractor shall report to the requesting Customer the Contractor’s spend with certified and other minority business enterprises in the provision of commodities or services related to the Customer’s orders. These reports shall include the period covered, the name, minority code, and Federal Employer Identification Number of each minority business utilized during the period; commodities and services provided by the minority business enterprise, and the amount paid to each minority business enterprise on behalf of the Customer.
