Vacation Year Defined. (a) For the purpose of this Article, the vacation year shall be construed as running from January 1st to December 31st.
Vacation Year Defined. A vacation year for the purpose of this Article is a twelve (12) month period starting with the individual employee's anniversary date of employment with the Sheriff's Department.
Vacation Year Defined a) The vacation year shall be defined as the first working day in January to December 31st. For the year in which the employee begins work, the entitlement is from the employment date to the year-end.
b) If an employee’s employment date is between the 1st and the 15th day of a month, the employee is considered to have worked the whole month.
Vacation Year Defined. The vacation year shall be January 1st to December 31st for purposes of this article. Employees are required to take their full annual vacation entitlement, as time off, in each vacation year, subject to the provisions of Section 15.8. When, for operational reasons, the Employer cannot permit an employee to take his/her full vacation entitlement as time off in any vacation year, the employee shall be required to carry-over as much vacation as is permitted under Section 15.8. In such cases, any vacation, that is in excess of the permitted carry-over, shall be paid out in cash, as at December 31st of the applicable vacation year. In no other circumstances shall vacations be paid out as cash, except as specified elsewhere in this agreement.
Vacation Year Defined. 15.05.1 For purposes of annual and supplementary vacations under this article, the term “calendar year” means the twelve (12) month period from January 1st to the following December 31st, inclusive.
Vacation Year Defined. For the purpose of calculating vacation pay as described in Article 19, the vacation year runs from January 1 to December 31. Upon the completion of each twelve (12) months of employment, each employee must take a vacation with pay of at least two (2) weeks or two (2) one (1) week periods between January 1 and December 31 of the following year.

Vacation is an earned benefit but on the date of ratification and on January 1st, 2001, each employee is entitled, subject to Article 16.07 (Entitlement Upon Termination) to begin using the total number of days that will be calculated to the end of that year, in accordance with Article 16.01 (Paid Vacation).
