Welding and Cutting. 18.26.1 Fuel gas cylinders (oxygen/acetylene/LP gas, etc.) must be stored in their upright positions with Caps in place and secured when not in use. Oxygen and fuel gas cylinders must be kept a minimum of 20-feet apart or stored in an approved storage unit. 18.26.2 Oxygen/acetylene cylinders can be extremely dangers and shall be transported, used and stored in approved carts only. Approved carts consist of a noncombustible barrier at least 5-feet high between oxygen/acetylene cylinders which meets a fire-resistance rating of at least ½-hour. Oxygen/acetylene cylinders not in approved carts will be required to meet the storage requirements of OSHA. Always keep bottles shielded or at a safe distance from welding or cutting operations. 18.26.3 Gauges, gauge covers, valves, hoses and other torch set components will be inspected prior to each use. All defective components will be corrected prior to use of the assembly. 18.26.4 Gauges shall be removed and caps in place when transported in mobile equipment (i.e. trucks, cranes, forklifts, etc.). 18.26.5 Flashback arrestors will be required for all torches between torch head and hose assembly. Projects covered under EM 385 shall have flashback arrestors and reverse flow check valves installed. 18.26.6 Cutting torches shall be lit with strikers, do not use a cigarette or butane lighter.
Welding and Cutting. Project specific procedure for welding and cutting, including all necessary safety requirements such as fire prevention, personal protective equipment, hot work permits (if not covered by Contractor’s Fire Prevention and Protection program, FDNY certificate requirements).
Welding and Cutting. CONTRACTOR should obtain a Hot Work Permit prior to any welding works in OMPL premises and all requirements pertaining to hot work shall be strictly enforced. Only OMPL approved type of Welding Blanket shall be used. When welding work is carried out in a workshop or any similar location classified as a permit free area, which is approved by OMPL Safety, a work permit is not required but the work shall be adequately supervised. The work area shall at all times be kept clean of combustible and flammable material.
Welding and Cutting. Oxygen, acetylene, and mixture tanks will be stored in approved areas. Oxygen cylinders shall be separated from fuel — gas cylinders or combustible materials a minimum of 20 feet or by a non combustible barrier at least 5 feet high, having a fire resistance rating of at least one-half hour. All welding and cutting tanks will have flashback arrestors installed at the torch to prevent flashback of gases. A fire extinguisher must also be present.
Welding and Cutting is prohibited outside of designated safe welding areas unless controlled by a written hot work permit system. A fire watch is required for all hot work conducted at field production or gas plant facilities unless the work takes place inside a designated safe welding area.
Welding and Cutting a. Always clear area below cutting or welding operations to keep hot slag from dropping onto hoses, cables, or employees. b. Use properly shaded welding helmets and burning goggles for eye protection and to prevent flash bum. Always wear eye protection and to guard against slag while chipping, grinding, and dressing welds. c. Use only manual electrode holders specifically designed for arc welding. d. Make sure that all parts subject to electrical current are fully insulated against the maximum voltage to ground. e. Make sure that the ground return cable has a safe current carrying capacity equal to or exceeding the specified amount maximum output capacity of the arc welding unit that it services. f. Make sure cable leads and connections are in place to eliminate tripping hazards. g. Shield all arc welding and cutting operations with non-combustible or flameproof screens to protect employees from direct arc rays. h. Keep suitable fire extinguishers readily available when welding or cutting. i. Be sure that proper ventilation is provided whenever welding, cutting, or heating operations are performed in a confined space.
Welding and Cutting. 9.8.1 All welding and cutting shall be in accordance with Xxxxxx Fire Department regulations. Torch cutting and/or welding oper- ations by Subcontractors shall have the approval of the Contractor prior to start of such operations. In addition to the requirements of this Article, wherever electric or gas welding or cutting work is done in the vicinity of combustible material, or over areas where persons may be found, interposed xxxxxxx of fireproof material shall be used to protect against fire damage or injury. Personnel with suitable fire extinguishing equipment shall be stationed near welding and cutting operations to prevent the sparks from lodging in floor cracks or passing through floor or wall openings and from lodging in combustible materials. Chemical extinguishers shall be available and ready for use in all locations where torch cutting and/or welding operations are in progress.

This standard covers safety in welding and allied processes. If You don’t comply with these Care Conditions We may reduce the amount We pay for a claim. This may mean We would pay You nothing.

  • Welding Welding and use of cutting torches or cutoff saws will be permitted only in areas that have been cleared or are free of all material capable of carrying fire. Flammable debris and vegetation must be removed from within a minimum 10-foot radius of all welding and cutting operations. A shovel and a 5-gallon standard backpack water container filled and with handpump attached shall be immediately available for use in the event of a fire start. C8.64 – DEBARMENT AND SUSPENSION CERTIFICATION (3/18). Pursuant to 2 CFR 180 and 2 CFR 417, Purchaser shall certify and obtain certifications from its Subcontractors regarding debarment, suspension, ineligibility, and voluntary exclusion, including additional Subcontractors obtained after award of this contract. “Subcontractors” are participants in lower tier covered transactions. Purchaser may rely upon a certification of a prospective Subcontractor that it is not proposed for debarment under 48 CFR 9.4, debarred, suspended, ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from participating in covered transactions or timber sales, unless Purchaser knows that the certification is erroneous. Purchaser shall keep the certifications of its Subcontractors on file until timber sale Termination Date and any extensions thereof, and will provide a copy at the written request of Contracting Officer. Nothing contained in the foregoing shall be construed to require establishment of a system of records in order to render in good faith the certification required by this Subsection. The knowledge and information of Purchaser is not required to exceed that which is normally possessed by a prudent person in the ordinary course of business dealings. If Purchaser knowingly enters into a timber sale transaction with a person who is proposed for debarment under 48 CFR 9.4, suspended, debarred, ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from participation in covered transactions or timber sales, in addition to other remedies available to the Government, Forest Service may pursue available remedies, including suspension and/or debarment. Contracting Officer shall provide a copy of Forms AD-1047 Certification Regarding Debarment, Suspension and Other Responsibility Matters – Primary Covered Transactions and AD-1048 Certification Regarding Debarment, Suspension, Ineligibility and Voluntary Exclusion – Lower Tier Covered Transactions to the Purchaser. Purchaser shall complete form AD-1047 and provide to the Contracting Officer upon request. Purchaser shall require each subcontractor to complete form AD-1048 and provide to the Contracting Officer upon request.

  • CUTTING AND PATCHING The Contractor shall be responsible for cutting, fitting or patching required to complete the Work or to make its parts fit together properly.

  • Archiving and Reuse Self-Archiving: The Publisher permits the Rights Holder to archive the Contribution in accordance with the Publisher's guidelines, the current version of which is set out in the Appendix "Author's Self-Archiving Guidelines".

  • Dewatering (a) Where the whole of a site is so affected by surface water following a period of rain that all productive work is suspended by agreement of the Parties, then dewatering shall proceed as above with Employees so engaged being paid at penalty rates as is the case for safety rectification work. This work is typically performed by Employees engaged within CW1, CW2 or CW3 classifications. When other Employees are undertaking productive work in an area or areas not so affected then dewatering will only attract single time rates. (b) Where a part of a site is affected by surface water following a period of rain, thus rendering some areas unsafe for productive work, consistent with the Employer’s obligations under the OH&S Act, appropriate Employees shall assist in the tidying up of their own work site or area if it is so affected. Where required, appropriate Employees will be provided with the appropriate PPE. Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected. (c) To avoid any confusion any ‘dewatering’ time which prevents an Employee from being engaged in their normal productive work is not included in any calculation for the purposes of determining whether an Employee is entitled to go home due to wet weather (refer clauses 32.4 and 32.5)

  • Foundations nor shall the Contractor be responsible for correction of leaks resulting from said failure.

  • Building and Improvements Lessor shall obtain and keep in force during the term of this Lease a policy or policies in the name of Lessor, with loss payable to Lessor and to any Lender(s), insuring against loss or damage to the Premises. Such insurance shall be for full replacement cost, as the same shall exist from time to time, or the amount required by any Lender(s), but in no event more than the commercially reasonable and available insurable value thereof if, by reason of the unique nature or age of the improvements involved, such latter amount is less than full replacement cost. Lessee-Owned Alterations and Utility Installations, Trade Fixtures and Lessee's personal property shall be insured by Lessee pursuant to Paragraph 8.

  • Blasting Blasting shall be permitted only for road construction purposes unless advance permission is obtained from Forest Service. Whenever the Industrial Fire Precaution Level is II or greater, a fire security person equipped with a long handled round point No. 0 or larger shovel and a 5 gallon backpack pump can filled with water, will stay at location of blast for 1 hour after blasting is done. Blasting may be suspended by Forest Service, in areas of high rate of spread and resistance to control. Fuses shall not be used for blasting. Explosive cords shall not be used without permission of Forest Service, which may specify conditions under which such explosives may be used and precautions to be taken.

  • Drainage Systems (1) Clear culvert inlets, outlets, and sediment catching basins. (2) Maintain waterbars, drainage dips, and other water diversion measures. (3) During active use, patrol and maintain functional drainage. (4) Repair damaged culvert ends.

  • Felling and Bucking Felling shall be done to minimize breakage of Included Timber and dam- age to residual timber. Unless agreed otherwise, felling shall be done by saws or shears. Bucking shall be done to permit removal of all minimum pieces set forth in A2. B6.411 Felling in Clearings. Insofar as ground conditions, tree lean, and shape of clearings per- mit, trees shall be felled so that their tops do not extend outside Clearcutting Units, construction clearings, and ar- eas of regeneration cutting. B6.000 Xxxxx Xxxxxxx. Stumps shall not exceed, on the side adjacent to the highest ground, the maximum heights set forth in A6, except that occasional stumps of greater heights are acceptable when Purchaser determines that they are necessary for safe and efficient conduct of logging. Unless otherwise agreed, Purchaser shall re-cut high stumps so they will not exceed heights specified in A6 and shall dispose of severed portions in the same manner as other logging debris. The xxxxx heights shown in A6 were selected with the objective of maximum reasonable utilization of the timber, unless Sale Area Map shows special areas where xxxxx heights are lower for aesthetic, land treatment, or silvicultural rea- sons.

  • Screening After you sign and date the consent document, you will begin screening. The purpose of the screening is to find out if you meet all of the requirements to take part in the study. Procedures that will be completed during the study (including screening) are described below. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to take part in the study. The study investigator or study staff will explain why. As part of screening, you must complete all of the items listed below: • Give your race, age, gender, and ethnicity • Give your medical history o You must review and confirm the information in your medical history questionnaire • Give your drug, alcohol, and tobacco use history • Give your past and current medication and treatment history. This includes any over-the-counter or prescription drugs, such as vitamins, dietary supplements, or herbal supplements, taken in the past 28 days • Height and weight will be measured • Physical exam will be done • Electrocardiogram (ECG) will be collected. An ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart • You may be tested for COVID-19 o Blood tests for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B, and hepatitis C o Blood tests to see how your blood clots ▪ Fibrinogen ▪ PT/INR/aPTT o Blood tests for amylase and lipase (enzymes that help with digestion, Part B only) o Blood tests for a lipid (fats) panel (Part B only) ▪ Total cholesterol ▪ Triglycerides ▪ HDL ▪ Direct HDL o Blood tests to check your thyroid function (Part B and Part C only) ▪ TSH ▪ Free T4 o Urine to test for drugs of abuse (illegal and prescription) o Urine tests to check your albumin/ creatinine ratio o Females who have not had a period for at least 12 months in a row will have a blood hormone test to confirm they cannot have children • The study investigator may decide to do an alcohol breath test • The use of proper birth control will be reviewed (males only) • You will be asked “How do you feel?” HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C will be tested at screening. If anyone is exposed to your blood during the study, you will have these tests done again. If you have a positive test, you cannot be in or remain in the study. HIV is the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). If your HIV test is positive, you will be told about the results. It may take weeks or months after being infected with HIV for the test to be positive. The HIV test is not always right. Having certain infections or positive test results may have to be reported to the State Department of Health. This includes results for HIV, hepatitis, and other infections. If you have any questions about what information is required to be reported, please ask the study investigator or study staff. Although this testing is meant to be private, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed. For example, it is possible for a court of law to get health or study records without your permission.
