Work Assignments for Instructional Assistants. A. The assignment for each Instructional Assistant is determined by the normal school hours at each site. B. Instructional Assistants have a duty-free lunch period of one-half hour, which is not considered, paid work time. If an Instructional Assistant is requested by his/her immediate supervisor or the supervisor’s designee to render assistance to a student or teacher during the lunch period, the Assistant shall be compensated for the lunch period at his/her regular rate of pay. C. The work schedule for Instructional Assistants shall be set by July 1 of each year. Thereafter, the schedule shall not be changed except for good cause or mutual consent of the employee and the Employer.
