WORK CLOTHES, UNION PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. (a) The Company shall provide and maintain coveralls on an exchange basis and free of charge, to all plant and yard employees, and to gasfitters and truck drivers making installations, doing service or dirty work. Employees will exercise a degree of personal responsibility and the Company’s management will exercise a degree of reasonableness; however no reasonable request will be denied. The coveralls shall bear a Union label and shall be provided and serviced by a firm having an agreement with the Teamsters Union if one is available in the site area and no employee shall be discharged for refusing to wear coveralls that are not so labelled and serviced. When required by the type of job being performed, the Company shall also make available, free of charge, rubber clothes and gloves. The Company shall supply without charge any equipment as required by the Workers' Compensation Board. (b) Should the Company require an employee to wear a uniform, the employee shall wear a uniform and the Company shall pay 100% of the cost of the uniform and 100% of the cost to clean same uniform. The Company will supply the required components of a uniform for compliance by employee. (c) The Company will reimburse the employee a maximum of one hundred and sixty dollars ($160.00) per year as stipulated for CSA approved safety shoes required to be worn by regular full time gasfitters, truck driver and plant operators in the performance of their duties. Full time Plant Operators and Cylinder Truck drivers will receive an additional fifty dollars ($50.00) per year, on an exchange basis, in the event that a second pair of CSA approved safety shoes are required. Reimbursement will be paid upon receipt of replacement safety shoes, but not more than once annually on the employee's anniversary date, provided he has 6 months seniority. (d) Any subsequent safety clothing/equipment requiring replacement will be provided on an exchange basis. Employees will exercise a degree of personal responsibility and the Company’s management will exercise a degree of reasonableness; however no reasonable request will be denied. (e) If available in the area, all vending machines of any type provided in the Company's sites for the exclusive use of the employees shall be provided by a company having an agreement with the Teamsters Union and further, all products contained therein shall be union-made products. (i) On completion of the probationary period a minimum of one (1) uniform set each week.
(ii) The Employer shall supply jackets with removable linings every second year. The Company Employer shall supply without charge regular coveralls as required.
(iii) The Employer shall supply any safety equipment as required by the Workers' Compensation BoardBoard without charge.
(biv) Should Employees assigned to work outdoors will be provided, by the Company Employer, with rainwear consisting of a coat and a pair of trousers made of rubber, or other water impervious material. The Employer will replace individual items when such items are rendered ineffective through normal wear and tear. Individual employees are charged with the responsibility of using rainwear with reasonable care. The Employer reserves the right to require the rainwear be kept in a designated area on the Employer's premises in non-working hours. The Employer may require an employee to wear a uniformsign for rainwear when it is provided, and upon termination of employment for any reason, the employee shall wear a uniform and must return the Company shall pay 100% of rainwear or the Employer may deduct the replacement cost of any item not returned from any monies owing to the uniform employee. Rainwear in useable condition shall be supplied to seasonal staff. The Employer shall have rubber boots available for employees to use when required. Suitable cool weather coveralls will be supplied for specific jobs when required.
(v) Protective clothing, including leather and 100% of rubber gloves, shall be supplied by the Employer for grave removal at no cost to clean same uniform. The Company will supply the required components of a uniform for compliance by employee.
(cvi) The Company will reimburse the Employer shall pay each full-time employee a maximum an annual safety footwear allowance of up to one hundred and fifty-five dollars ($155.00) in each calendar year. Effective January 25, 2008 such allowance shall be increased to one hundred and sixty dollars ($160.00). Seasonal employees shall be paid an eighty dollar ($80.00) per year as stipulated for CSA approved safety shoes required boot allowance after every eight (8) months of accumulated service. Effective January 25, 2008 such allowance shall be increased to be worn by regular full time gasfitters, truck driver and plant operators in the performance of their duties. Full time Plant Operators and Cylinder Truck drivers will receive an additional fifty eighty-five dollars ($50.00) per year, on an exchange basis, in the event that a second pair of CSA approved safety shoes are required. Reimbursement will be paid upon receipt of replacement safety shoes, but not more than once annually on the employee's anniversary date, provided he has 6 months seniority.
(d) Any subsequent safety clothing/equipment requiring replacement will be provided on an exchange basis. Employees will exercise a degree of personal responsibility and the Company’s management will exercise a degree of reasonableness; however no reasonable request will be denied.
