WORK YEAR – WORK WEEK. 5:1 The work week for secretaries, bus drivers and instructional assistants shall be Monday through Friday during the employee’s contract period, with the exception of scheduled vacations and holidays.
5:1.1 The regular workweek for Operations staff is generally Monday through Friday. The Board of Education may create a position(s) whose normal workweek would include Saturday or Sunday at regular pay. If such a position(s) is created, no present employee shall be required to fill it. Posting and advertising shall be the same as for any other position. There will be an annual stipend of $500.00 for any position which includes Saturday or Sunday as a regular workday ($1,000 if both Saturday and Sunday are included), if full time, and prorated on that amount if part time.

Work Year The work year for each unit member shall be for the number of months specified by the Academy and shall include vacation leave and holidays as specified in Article 16, Leaves. The Academy shall notify a unit member of his/her work year in the letter of appointment.
B. Work Week
(1) It is the responsibility of the Academy to assign and schedule the work of unit members to provide services to the various segments of the Academy community and meet other academy objectives.
(2) Each unit member shall be assigned by the Academy to a flexible (salaried) work schedule. The work of unit members is not measured in a fixed number of hours per week.
(3) Where a unit member is assigned work by two (2) or more persons it shall be the responsibility of the unit member's appropriate supervisor to resolve conflicts in work assignments which arise.
C. Nothing in this Article shall prohibit the Academy from maintaining, establishing or altering procedures to record the hours worked by unit members.
WORK YEAR – WORK WEEK. 1. a. The regular work year is not to exceed 195 days in session, inclusive of:
i. One (1) year end administrative day and four (4) one-hour early closing days for parent-teacher interviews, and
ii. Seven (7) non-instructional days, which shall include two (2) half (1/2) days for report card writing and two (2) Community Interaction Days as mandated by the Ministry. The remaining non-instructional time shall be for professional development.
WORK YEAR – WORK WEEK. 7 Section A: The normal work year for support staff employees shall coincide with the number of days school is in 8 session in order to fulfill state requirements to receive full state aid.

15.1. The normal work year for school year Bargaining Unit Members shall approximately coincide with the work year for teachers employed by the Board. The normal work year for all other (full year) Bargaining Unit Members shall be twelve (12) months, July 1 through June 30. The normal work week for all full–time Bargaining Unit Members is Monday through Friday, including an unpaid DUTY–FREE lunch period of at least thirty (30) minutes duration. The minimum call–in pay for emergency situations shall be two (2) hours.
15.2. All Bargaining Unit Members will be entitled to two (2) fifteen (15) minute relief times except that Bargaining Unit Members working less than the normal workday shall receive one (1) fifteen (15) minute relief time.
15.3. Overtime and extra bus runs shall be divided among Bargaining Unit Members within each department. Overtime and extra bus runs will be covered by the use of an “Overtime Chart” and will be offered to each Bargaining Unit Member in rotation based on seniority. Overtime that is refused by a Bargaining Unit Member will be charged on the Overtime Chart for the purpose of balancing the overtime. Overtime that is unused by a Bargaining Unit Member who has suffered injury on the job will not be charged against him/her on the Overtime Chart for up to one (1) calendar year. Upon his/her return, every effort shall be made to adjust this loss by giving him/her first available assignment on the overtime. It is understood by the parties that the record keeping of the “Overtime Chart” shall be borne by the Association.
