Common use of WORKING IN MULTIPLE CLASSIFICATIONS Clause in Contracts

WORKING IN MULTIPLE CLASSIFICATIONS. Where an employee works on a regular basis in more than one classification, he shall be paid his regular rate except where he is assigned to perform the duties and assumes the responsibilities of another position in the bargaining unit for a period in excess of half of a shift. He shall than be paid the wage rate of the other position from the commencement of the shift. Movement on the wage grids will be based on paid hours in each classification. The Employer and the Union recognize that the workplace should be free of The Employer shall provide the Union with a copy of its policy. The Employer further agrees that prior to any changes to the Policy being implemented, the Parties shall meet to discuss the proposed changes. The Union shall be allowed input in regards to such proposed changes. The Employer further agrees that any disputes surrounding the Policy or an employee’s claim that rights have been violated under such Policy, may be the subject of a grievance under the procedure. Such grievance shall be initiated at Step of the grievance procedure.
