Common use of Workplace Violence and Employee Security Clause in Contracts

Workplace Violence and Employee Security. The parties agree that there is a shared interest in eliminating and/or minimizing hazards of workplace violence. For the purposes of this clause, violence includes actual or attempted acts of physical force, threats of violence, verbal abuse and aggressive behaviour from patients/clients/residents or the public. Also included are threatening statements or behaviour which gives an employee reasonable cause to believe they are at risk of injury.
